The OTR StillHouse including the exterior lawn is:

No Smoking, Cigars, Vaping, or Electronic Cigarette Environment, and No Pets please.  

Dedicated smoking area is outside and north of the fence on Branch St.

When visiting the outdoor space at the OTR StillHouse, you will notice the amenities we have added for the comfort of our guests. We didn’t put a gravel lot down or keep the blacktop that existed.. Instead, we focused on the guest experience.

We have provided a comfortable and eco-friendly artificial lawn. Professionally installed by the same company that installed and cares for the “pitch” at  the TQL Stadium home of FC Cincinnati. The lawn will allow around 360,000 gallons of rainwater to filter through the turf and eventually make its way down to the aquifer below, instead of becoming runoff and ending up in the city’s combined sewer pipes. Plus there’s no mowing it, eliminating carbon pollutants spewed into the air. Cigarette ashes could singe or burn the turf and dropping a cigarette would burn through the turf.

Installed within the turf itself we apply “Antimicrobial Infill “ by local company USGreentech.  During the Envirofill manufacturing process, FDA approved Microban® antimicrobial technology is infused into the proprietary coating of the rounded sand to help prevent the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew that can cause stains, odors, and product deterioration.

Knox Joseph Distillery Covid Protocols

We know that Covid has changed the way we go out. Here at the OTR StillHouse we have dedicated our resources to keep our staff safe, and that means our visitors are the fortunate benefactors as well. We have installed air exchange systems that draw 25% more fresh air into our occupied space than what is required by EPA code. In addition to more fresh air, ALL air that is brought through our heating, venting and air conditioning systems pass through UV-C lights. UV-C or ‘germicidal’ lamps have been used for decades in healthcare and other settings to kill bacteria (e.g. tuberculosis), or viruses in air, and for sterilization of drinking water. UVC radiation has been shown to inactivate the SARS-Coronavirus. The light penetrates the outer layer of the virus as it passes through the beam and damages the virus’s ability to replicate. 

In addition to our air exchange protocol, we have designed our bathrooms as hands free as possible. The only touch point is the door handle to your stall, but each stall is equipped with an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser. The waste cans are motion activated and each hand sink is in fact a hands free wash station. The faucets are positioned facing away from the person next to you. The water is activated by a custom foot pedal and the sinks have automatic soap dispensers and rapid air hand dryers. The hand dryers have UV-C light inside the unit which keeps the internal chamber sterile. We have also placed UV-C light beams that cast across the bathroom ceilings. Air constantly circulates in front of these beams, adding yet another layer of our covid killing protocols to protect our employees and our guests.

No Pets

The turf is not animal proof and the main reason we can not allow pets. If a dog urinates on the turf, the urine does not just soak into the dirt. It sits on top of the turf and only weeps thru small holes placed about 10 inches apart. Frequent urination on the turf would lead to bad smells and attract more dogs to mark the turf. We are sorry for the inconvenience, and this is not a decision that came easy. 

Under 21 Policy

Children under 18 are welcome inside the public house until 9 PM. Guests under 21 are welcome to enjoy our space and live entertainment until 9 PM as well.  After 9 PM, any guests must have a valid ID to show they are over 21 years of age.
